                      • Difficulty level and terrain: The Everest base camp trek is a moderate trek. The trekking route is well-marked and follows lush forests and uneven cliffsides. The services along the Everest base camp trail are fantastic, which makes the journey bearable. There are some steep sections on the way. Once you are above the treeline, you will walk via glaciers and moraines. Follow rocky tracks to reach the base camp.
                      • Altitude sickness: The Everest base camp trek 10 days is a high-altitude journey. The elevation increases every day and leads you to 5,5,45 meters (18,129 ft). This rise in elevation adds to the risk of altitude sickness. However, our Everest base camp trek 10 days has two acclimatization days in it, so you will get ample time to get used to elevation and avoid altitude sickness.
                      • Preventive measures: To prevent altitude sickness, you have to drink plenty of water and avoid smoking or drinking alcohol during the trek. The key is to keep yourself hydrated. Likewise, do not rush and maintain your pace to have stable energy throughout the trek. The best time to do the Everest base camp trek 10 days in Nepal

                      • Spring: Spring is one of the most popular times for the Everest Base Camp trek due to mild temperatures and clear trails. The snow from the winter has usually melted, making the path more accessible. Daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C, making it a pleasant time to trek. However, nights can still be quite cold, with temperatures dropping to -10°C or lower at higher elevations. The weather is relatively stable, but occasional rain showers or snowfall can occur.
                      • Autumn: Autumn is another popular time for EBC trekking, as the weather is stable. The monsoon rains clear the skies and wash away the dust. During the day, temperatures range from 15°C to 20°C, with cooler nights at higher altitudes. The autumn season offers some of the most spectacular views of the mountains, with clear, crisp air and vibrant greenery.
                      • Summer/monsoon: Summer and monsoon season goes simultaneously in Nepal. It is not a good time to do Everest Base Camp trekking because the trails are muddy and slippery due to heavy rain. Leeches can also be a nuisance in some areas. Daytime temperatures are warmer, ranging from 20°C to 25°C at lower elevations. However, it can still be quite chilly at higher altitudes. Monsoon season brings lush green landscapes, but the views of the mountains are often obscured by clouds and mist.
                      • Winter: Winter is the coldest time to trek to Everest Base Camp. The trails can be covered in snow and ice, making them more challenging. Daytime temperatures at lower elevations range from 5°C to 10°C, while higher elevations can experience sub-zero temperatures. The winter season offers clear skies and unobstructed mountain views. The pristine white landscapes are breathtaking. Winter trekking is less crowded, but it comes with the risk of extremely cold temperatures.

                      Accommodation and Meals

                      • Rooms: The accommodation along the Everest base camp trail are lodges. The rooms are generally basic and provide a bed or two, typically with a clean mattress and blankets. Sleeping bags are recommended. Rooms are quite small and usually shared with other trekkers. You can opt for single rooms as well.
                      • Washroom: Lodges typically offer shared washroom facilities. These usually include squat or western-style toilets, though squat toilets are more common at higher elevations. Toilet paper is not always provided, so carry your own. Cleanliness can vary, but it's generally fine.
                      • Hot shower: Hot showers are available in most lodges, but they come at an extra cost, and the price can increase as you ascend to higher altitudes. Hot showers are a luxury during the EBC trek and may not be available at higher elevations. Body wipes will keep you refreshed, on the days you do not get to shower.
                      • Charging: Most lodges offer charging services for electronic devices such as phones and cameras. However, this also comes at an additional cost and can become more expensive as you trek higher. Bring backup power sources, such as power banks or spare batteries.
                      • WiFi: WiFi is available in villages like Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Tengboche at extra cost. However, the connection may not be stable all the time. You can use a Nepali sim to access the internet via data for a better connection. Do understand that neither of these options offers reliable internet access.
                      • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner: Breakfast options often include a variety of choices like omelets, porridge, toast, pancakes, and local dishes. Likewise, you will get tea, coffee, and other beverages. Lunch and dinner menus typically consist of a variety of items, including rice, noodles, dal bhat, pasta, soups, momo, chapati, burgers, and more. You'll find a mix of international and local dishes.

                      Additional Information

                      • Travel insurance: Ensure you have comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking. This should include medical bills and helicopter evacuation in case of emergencies. Verify that your policy covers the specific altitudes you'll be trekking at and any activities related to the EBC trek.
                      • Passport and visa: Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from the day you enter Nepal. You can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Kathmandu's airport or in advance at a Nepalese embassy or consulate. Be prepared with the necessary visa fee in USD or other accepted currencies.

                      • Tips: Tipping your guide and porter is customary in Nepal. A general guideline is to tip around 10-15% of the total cost of your trek. Make sure to have small denominations to tip drivers and guards. Our Everest Base Camp trek 10 days cost does not cover tips, so please remember to budget it.
                      • Luggage: Pack wisely and keep your duffel bag weight within the 10 kg limit and backpack within 5 kg. Excess baggage can incur extra fees. • Personal expense: In addition to the cost of your trek package, you'll need money for personal expenses such as snacks, additional meals, and extra services not included in your package. Likewise, you will also need additional money for tips, travel insurance, shopping, international flights, etc.
